Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about industrial RO plant engineering, bottling plant economics, BIS licensing, machine lead times, and on-site commissioning.

Mineral Water Plant Setup & Licensing

What licenses and government approvals are required to start a mineral water plant in India?+
To operate a commercial packaged drinking water plant, you require: (1) BIS Certification (IS 14543 for Packaged Drinking Water or IS 13428 for Natural Mineral Water), (2) FSSAI Central/State Food License, (3) State Pollution Control Board (SPCB) Consent to Establish & Consent to Operate (CTE/CTO), (4) Central Ground Water Authority (CGWA) Borewell NOC, (5) MSME/Udyam Registration, and (6) Local Municipal Trade License. Metavel Industries assists clients with layout compliance and documentation for these certifications.
How much land/civil space is needed for a 5,000 LPH turnkey bottling plant?+
A standard 5,000 LPH automatic bottling plant (covering raw water storage, RO plant room, automatic bottling line, finished goods warehouse, and in-house microbiological laboratory) typically requires 3,000 to 5,000 sq. ft. of clean, covered industrial shed with anti-bacterial epoxy flooring.
Does Metavel Industries provide in-house BIS Laboratory setup equipment?+
Yes, we supply complete chemical and microbiological testing laboratory equipment adhering strictly to BIS IS 14543 requirements, including Laminar Air Flow hoods, Autoclaves, Incubators, Spectrophotometers, TDS meters, and glassware along with lab chemist training.

Machinery, Engineering & Capacities

How do I choose the correct RO plant capacity (LPH) for my facility?+
Plant capacity is calculated based on your target daily bottle output plus bottle rinsing requirements and operating hours. For example, if you aim to fill 50,000 bottles of 500ml per day in an 8-hour shift, you need 25,000 liters / 8 hours = ~3,125 LPH. Adding 25% safety margin and bottle rinsing water, a 4,000 to 5,000 LPH RO plant is ideal.
What is the typical lifespan of RO membranes and how often do they need replacement?+
With appropriate pre-treatment (antiscalant dosing, sand filtration, and regular clean-in-place CIP flushing), premium industrial RO membranes (Dow Filmtec / Toray) deliver an operational lifespan of 3 to 5 years under continuous duty.
What stainless steel grade is used in Metavel Industries bottling machines and RO skids?+
All water contact parts, filling nozzles, tanks, and valves are constructed from SS304 or pharmaceutical-grade SS316/316L stainless steel. External structural skids are electro-polished or matte buffed to prevent corrosion in humid factory environments.

Commercials, Delivery & Project Timelines

What is the manufacturing lead time for turnkey bottling lines?+
Standard standalone industrial RO plants (1,000 - 10,000 LPH) are dispatched within 15 to 20 days. Complete turnkey bottling lines (combining water treatment, blow moulding, rotary triblock filler, and packaging) typically take 30 to 45 days for manufacturing and Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT).
Does Metavel Industries export machinery internationally?+
Yes, Metavel Industries has exported and commissioned plants across 50+ countries including the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Kenya, Nigeria, South Africa, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, and the Philippines. We handle seaworthy vacuum wooden packing, container stuffing, and international on-site installation by our certified technicians.

Warranty & After-Sales Service

What warranty is provided on Metavel Industries machinery?+
All Metavel Industries machinery comes with a 12 to 24 month comprehensive warranty covering mechanical and electrical manufacturing defects. We also provide lifetime technical phone/video support and guaranteed spare parts availability.
Do you offer Annual Maintenance Contracts (AMC)?+
Yes, we offer comprehensive and non-comprehensive AMC packages including scheduled quarterly on-site preventative maintenance audits, membrane chemical cleaning, instrument calibration, and priority emergency breakdown response.
